Q:
Drives striped with AVID drive utility will no longer auto mount on an ATTO LVD SCSI card after installing the AvidStartup file.
A:
The AvidStartup file flashes any ATTO cards it sees to inhibit driver loading. This is why the drives won't automount. If you drop the ExpressRAID Init -- NOT THE EXPRESSPRO-TOOLS INIT -- into the extensions folder, the drives will auto mount. The ExpressRAID Init should be part of Media Composer's software install. Make a copy of the Init and drop it into this system . Otherwise, you will need to get ExpressRAID from ATTO. You should be using version 2.3.x of the ExpressRAID Init. The alternative is to remove Avid Startup (not sure that it's even necessary for this configuration), then launchEPT and uncheck the Inhibit Driver Loading box and do an Apply to All for each SCSI channel. At least one hard drivewill have to be attached to each bus of each affected ATTO card to do this.
