Q:
Cubase 5.0 lets me assign the MIDI output to SampleCell but the card doesn't react in any way. The OMS driver works fine.
A:
This is a bug in Cubase 5.0. Workaround: Use OMS or go back to Cubase 4.x.

What is Pro Tools 5.1cs2 for in the Beta/Bug Fix Software folder on the Pro Tools 5.1 installer CD? Pro Tools 5.1 sessions with large OMS Studio Setups and/or many MIDI tracks present open very slowly and slow down CPU performance. Soft SampleCell 3.0 Setup window is not movable. Outputs for mono instruments are not mono, they are stereo in Soft SampleCell 3.0. In Soft SampleCell 3.0, samples can only be saved as 24-bit files. There is no provision for saving samples in 16-bit format even if they were loaded onto a hardware SampleCell card in 16-bit format (they get dithered down from 24-bit). |
