You can route your MIDI signal to your Soundblaster Card (if it has MIDI sounds on it).The MIDI driver (or software synth driver) must be installed.To see if the driver is installed:My Computer > Control Panel > Multimedia (or Sound and Multimedia) > MIDI Tab. There you should see a list of MIDI drivers. If your Soundblaster card does not show up there, you will have to install the MIDI driver. (This is not a Pro Tools tech support issue). If the driver is there proceed:1. In Pro Tools, create a MIDI track (file menu > new track> MIDI). In the MIDI Output Selector for the MIDI track, the name for your Soundblaster card should be there, select it. That routes your MIDI performance to the Soundblaster Card. In MIDI Menu, MIDI Thru, should be selected. Record enable MIDI track. 2. Use a cable with a Stereo Mini plug on one end and two quarter inch connectors on the other. Route that cable from sound output of CPU to Monitor Inputs 3 & 4 on 001.3. Create an Auxillary Input Stereo track (file menu > new track> Aux. Stereo Input). On I/O select Analog Inputs 3 & 4. Bring up the volume, it defaults to off.Now, your MIDI performance will be played through your Soundblaster card, and you are monitoring the output on the aux. tracks.4. To use the Sound Blaster Card to monitor the Pro Tools generated click: MIDI Menu > Click Options > Output > Sound Blaster > Choose Channel. You can also set the tempo for the click in Pro Tools.
