Does Sound Designer run on PCI PowerMacs with the Audiomedia III or Pro Tools III PCI?
 
A:
Sound Designer versions 2.81 and earlier do not support Digidesign's PCI hardware. Sound Designer 2.82 runs on Pro Tools III PCI and Audiomedia III hardware. A free update from version 2.8 or 2.8.1 to version 2.8.2 is available in www.digidesign.com Designer 2.82 does not support plug-ins when running on PCI hardware, but will otherwise have all the functionality of other Sound Designer versions. The AudioSuite plug-in architecture for Pro Tools provides this functionality within Pro Tools 4.0 and higher.
