Q:
Why do the DATs I record digitally from AMII sound muffled or dull? I noticed that Emphasis is enabled on the DAT Machine when the DigiSystem INIT loads.
 
A:
This problem is caused by the DigiSystem INIT (DSI) 2.9 or 2.91, which mistakenly sets the Emphasis bit to On in the AMII digital output. This is resolved by updating to DSI 2.92 (or higher). You must throw away the DigiSetup file and restart the computer to allow the new DSI to work properly.
