Q:
After recording online successfully against Time code from a Video Tape Recorder or a Audio Tape Recorder, Pro Tools starts to playback static for the audio even though the waveform is correct. Occurs in Pro Tools 5.1 TDM
 
A:
Changing the "Open Ended Record Allocation" from "Use All Available Space" to "Limit To xx minutes" alleviates the problem. This most likely is related to Answerbase record number 5349. This is a bug in Pro Tools 5.1 that is fixed in Pro Tools 5.1.1
