Pro Audio Support

Q:
When importing audio recorded on a Tascam MX2424 into a Pro Tools session, files recorded after 12:25:30:00 on the Tascam have an incorrect original timestamp when attempting to spot onto the timeline. They all spot to 12:25:39:06 at 48k or 13:31:35:23.23 at 44.1k.Files recorded between 00:00:00:00 and 12:25:30:00 show the correct timestamp.

This is a Tascam bug. The issue only ocurrs when recording to HFS or HFS + formatted drives so the workaround is to record the projects to FAT-32 drives which will mount on the Mac. Pro Tools will then accept the Broadcast Wave audio file with correct time stamp.Tascam has released OS version 2.11 to fix the problem. This is a minor maintenance release, which fixes the following problems:1. When running MX-OS 2.10, audio files recorded on an HFS/HFS+ drive would not have correct time stamp information beyond approximately 12:35:00:00. 2. When running MX-OS 2.10, macros were not stored by the MX-2424. This OS release is available for download from the Tascam Downloads section of their web site. For those who can't download the Tascam fix, a workaround is to do a digital audio transfer from an HFS+ machine to a FAT-32 machine locked via the TL-Bus.
