Q:
When launching Pro Tools ver 5.1.1 for Win2K I get a hard freeze at "scanning memory 40000000"
 
A:
To fix the freeze at memory location 0x40000000, you will need to go back to the version of DALWDM.SYS which matches the version of PT you've installed. You can either just copy the file and reboot, or go through the device removal/reinstall procedure.
