A single monitor system is acting like the #1 monitor is #2.
 
A:
This happens because the OS sends the monitor #1 information (even with only one monitor present) to the VGA connector on the ABVB card. Since there is no monitor connected there you cant see or access the contents of the main monitor, startup screen or desktop.To fix this: 1) Connect a VGA monitor to the ABVB card, boot, go to monitorscontrol panel and reset what monitor is #1 and #2.2) Turn off the chassis, reboot computer. Go to preferencesand trash the Display preference file, empty trash and shut down.Power up the chassis and reboot the system. The startup screen and main desktop should be present on the main monitor.
