Q:
Can a Firewire drive or Digidrive FW be partitioned by the MAC OS?
A:
You can not partition DigiDrive FireWire drives using Apple HD setup. They are not recognized by HD setup. The only way to initialize them with the Apple drivers is to use Erase Disk, which will not allow you to partition the drives. If you want to partition your drives, you'll have to use a third-party utility. ATTO EPT does not currently support FireWire natively. It requires a third-party (Indigita) SCSI simulator driver to work -- which is why we didn't qualify it. We have no third-party recommendation at this time, and no plans to qualify a third-party driver.
