Q:
I got a pop and a loud blast of white noise when I powered off and on the Digital device connected to the S/PDIF inputs on the Digi 002.
A:
This is a known behavior. Pro Tools will exhibit this behavior when breaking the digitial clock connection. The plasma meters on the record enabled track will freeze, and upon reestablishing clock, there will be a blast of white noise for approx. 5 - 7seconds before valid signal is received.Workaround: Do not power cycle a digital audio device that's connected to a Digi 002 when a Pro Tools session is open. Close the Pro Tools session first before attempting the power cycle the digital audio device.
