Q:
How do I set up SSD in OMS to slave Pro Tools to incoming SMPTE (LTC)?
A:
- Check to make sure OMS is installed configured properly. Connect the SSD to a serial port on the Mac and make sure the switch on the back of the SSD is set to Mac Port. - Launch OMS Setup and search for interfaces on whichever port it is connected to. OMS will recognize the SSD as a Standard MIDI Interface. In the OMS setup window, create a new device (Studio->New Device). Leave Manufacturer and Model unselected (or set to "other), name the device "SSD, enable the "Sends and Receives MTC" check boxes and deselect everything else. Save the setup and quit OMS.- In Pro Tools, go to Setups>OMS MIDI Setup, and enable "Run MIDI In Background." Go to the Operations Menu and enable Active in Background. Make sure that MIDI Thru is enabled in the MIDI Menu. Go to Setups>Peripherals>Synchronization, and set the device to SMPTE Slave Driver and sends SSD configs to port "SSD. Put Pro Tools online and you should be good to go.
