Q:
I've been getting some out of memory errors when using a reasonably large Battery kit. Should I be allocating more memory to DAE or PT?
A:
Since you are using Battery with DirectConnect you must allocate more memory to Battery application in order to load larger kits! Battery is running in standalone independently from DAE and Pro Tools or Digital Performer. (This is not the case when used as VST or RTAS/HTDM plug-in. In this case memory must be allocated to the host application) To allocate memory: Select the icon of the application (Battery) and "get info" (command-click I), select "memory" from the popup in there and type in as "prefered size" the value you need. For example to load the largest kit on the Battery library CD(60's garage kit) assigning 110000 k is enough.
