Q:
How do I set the Polarity Switch on the Roland TD10 Pads?
A:
The Roland TD-10 is compatible with a wide variety of pads, including the
Roland PD-5, PD-7, PD-9, PD-100 and PD-120. The PD-7 and PD-9 have "polarity" switches located on the side of the pad. This switch determines whether the voltage waveform triggered by striking the pad will be sent negative portion first or positive portion first. When connected to a TD-10 or any other Roland drum module, the switches on all of the pads should be set to [ - ] (Roland). Improper setting of these switches can potentially cause delay or mistriggering problems on the TD-10.
