Q:
Is there a website I can visit with some utilities to boost the performance and compatability of my VIA chipset-based computer?
A:
There are two places you can try. One is the official VIA site, www.viatech.com and download the VIA Hyperion drivers (Windows drivers for the VIA chipset, formerly the 4-in-1 drivers).
The second is a third-party site which has achieved some success in fixing performance and compatability problems. Visit www.georgebreese.com , go to the software section, and download and install the PCI latency patch for VIA chipsets. This has been known to help. Please note we cannot be responsible for any problems caused by installing these software patches, but they have been known in the past to help some users with VIA chipsets which are having compatability problems with pro-audio software or hardware.
