Q:
How can I speed up importing files from CD to the hard drive of my Roland MV8000? Right now it takes several times to import and save.
A:
With the stock 128mb of RAM the Roland MV8000 comes with, a full 700mb CD will take 700 / 128 = 5.47 passes, roughly 6 times of importing to your project and saving to hard drive, before the whole CD is copied to the hard drive. To reduce the number of passes to 2, you can upgrade the memory to a maximum of 512mb. On many CDs which are not entirely full (roughly less than 50 minutes of audio), this would be sufficient to load all the audio data in a single pass.
