Q:
I am trying to install th Kompakt soundlibrary under OS X. I copied the .nks files from the cds again and the same problem occurs. When I point Kompakt to use this path the files appear greyed out.
A:
How to proceed to install the libraries manually: enter the first CD, copy the "library" folder which can be found on it to your disc. Then enter the second , third etc. CDs and copy the "..._part1.nks" etc files into this folder.
In the Options window of Kompakt select the path of the library. Press the lower button in the left column - left from the text field. Just select the *folder* "Library" - or whatever name you gave to it. You may not find a "Library" folder on the first CD (EastWest Artist Drums for example). In this case the manufacturer of the sample library (EastWest, zero-G etc.) have to provide an OS X update. dirty way: You could also run the OS 9 installer on the first CD under OS X in classic mode. Run the installer, choose "custom install" instead "Easy install" and only check "Library". But at another place in this knowledge base we do not recommend to run OS 9 installers in OS X classic mode, so maybe its better you would search for the update.... ;-) Attention! Do not allow Classic to change your existing OS 9 system, though it stated that it will not affect it.... it will affect it!!!!!
