Q:
Setting up the MackieControl to work with ProTools.
A:
1. Power on the MackieControl while holding the "select" keys above faders #1 and 2.
2. In ProTools, go to the SETUP menu and choose "Edit Midi Studio Setup". This will launch AMS (Audio MIDI Setup). In the MIDI Devices page, create a device named "HUI" and use the arrows to connect it to your MIDI interface. Then simply quit AMS. 5. In ProTools, go to the MIDI menu and select "input devices". Make sure that both your MIDI interface and MackieControl are selected. Then click OK. 6. Go the SETUP menu and choose Peripherals. In the MIDI Controllers page, set #1 to "HUI". Set the "receive from" and "send to" to HUI. 7. Click OK in peripherals. The MackieControl should come online with ProTools; faders on screen and on the surface should correspond, transport control should work, etc.
