Q:
Problems using UVIExtract to convert samples in Windows Environment
A:
Criterion for converting sample data:
1. Patch for UviExtract v1.00 to v1.08 is REQUIRED to do any sample conversion in Windows Versions. 2. During the installation of MachFive, you must specify a default directory for the included samples. You must always use this default folder for the sample conversions. If you do not use this directory, the application will fail to save sample data and therefore will generate errors in MachFive. ** The reason for this is a direct result of MachFive and UviExtract working so closely together. When the sample conversion is complete, MachFive will immediately attempt to load the sample from the UviExtract conversion. However, MachFive will only look in the default directory for the samples and program/patch data. If you specified a different folder for the samples other than the default, you will disallow proper communication between the two applications and therefore MachFive will either generate errors or crash.
