Q:
Whenever I'm using my M-Audio Delta series PCI card with my TC PowerCore PCI card, the PowerCore plugs all sound crackly. What can I do about this?
A:
Because of the high load that the combined cards are putting on the PCI bus (in a nutshell, the dataflow is Software->PowerCore->Software->Delta, which makes the data pass the PCI bus 3 times), the configuration has to be
perfect and there CANNOT be any IRQ sharing or any virtual IRQs etc.. Both the Delta card and the PowerCore card have to have their own unique IRQ below the number 15. In many cases, all unused hardware has to be disabled (Com ports, Paralled port, modem, onboard audio etc.), the computer has to be put into Standard PC mode and unused IRQs have to be assigned to the PCI cards through the computer's BIOS. The reason for this is that the PCI bus cannot handle the amount of data if the data streams are colliding.
