Here's a tip from AudioEase:

The common problem with the Virtual Guitar (and Electric Edition) is
to tell them where the content lives, and to write its preference file
accordingly.

Steinberg provides small utility applications to do this; it's called
'Set VG(EE) Content Folder'. They are available in the latest update
download of the respective VG from the Steinberg site.

Run the application, point to the content folder. This will write the
preference in the right place.

After that, VG will find its content when run in DP.
