Q:
Where are the Help Documents in PT 6.4 for XP/Mac?
A:
Despite, the manuals' appearances in either the Help Menu (PC) or the Pro Tools menu (Mac), these guides are not actually installed.
This problem occurs when people have downloaded Pro Tools v6.4 (LE for Mac or Windows XP) from the Dididesign Website. If they used the Pro Tools installer CD, this problem does not exist. The Workaround for Windows XP: These documents can be downloaded separately from the Digidesign website, placed in the Digidesign\Documentation directory and then be accessible via the Help or Pro Tools Menu as well as being opened Standalone. Here's How: 1) Go to www.digidesign.com 2) Download each of the following separately : Digibase Guide, DigiRack Plug-in Guide, Keyboard Shortcuts, Pro Tools Menu Guide, Pro Tools Reference Guide, Digidesign FAQ. 3) Place these guides (pdf files) in the Pro Tools documentation folder: Start Menu > My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > Digidesign > Documentation > Pro Tools. 5) Now, these guides will be accessible. Workaround for Mac: 1) Download the Pro Tools LE 6.4 Documentation Installer: Go to www.digidesign.com 2) After the documentation is installed, the manuals will be back in the Pro Tools menu for your session.
