Q:
Assigning samples to a keymap in MachFive
A:
Rather than converting individual loops or samples with UVI Xtract, you may want to follow this potentially easier method.
• Create and name a new soundbank. • This is done by hitting the "new" button under "soundbank" in the File Browser section of the MachFive window, then clicking the "more" menu under soundbank and choosing "rename soundbank." • Next create a new preset called "loops # 1" or the like. • This is done by hitting the "new" button under "preset" in the File Browser section of the MachFive window, then clicking the "more" menu under preset and choosing, "rename preset." • In the middle of your screen where the keys are, you'll see, "drop your samples here". • Now simply drop your samples on the keymap, choosing which key you want each sample to go to by where you drop it. NOTE: In DP you can drag from the desktop or hard drive to the keymap, while in other programs you may need to first drop the loop on an audio track, then from there drag to the keymap in MachFive.
