Q:
When I push the Monitor knob of the MOTU 896HD interface, why does it only show me 4 channels I can adjust the volume of rather than all 8? Is it broken?
A:
That's normal for the Monitor knob to only toggle between 1-4 meters and the volume on each because these are the Output Busses rather than input signals. There is no way from the faceplace of the 896HD to control the monitor volumes of each Input, for this you must use Cuemix Console software on your Mac or PC. The Monitor knob adjusts the output busses (there are 4 stereo output busses you can route all your inputs to in the Cuemix Console, these are the same output busses).
