Q:
I have a Yamaha-compatible sustain pedal and want to use it with my M-Audio MIDI controller keyboard but it doesn't work right. What's the problem?
A:
Check if your sustain pedal has a polarity switch. If so, change it's position and try again.
There are two common standards for sustain pedals: - Roland compatible - Yamaha compatible
M-Audio MIDI controller keyboards are designed to work with Roland compatible sustain pedals.
A Yamaha compatible sustain pedal will not function with M-Audio MIDI controller keyboards unless the pedal has a switch that allows to change it's operating mode.
Most aftermarket sustain pedals are equipped with a switch that allows you to change the pedal's operation mode.
