Q:
When I play a song in Ableton Live 5 that has volume level automation, the ProjectMix I/O's faders move along as they should. However, when I touch one of the moving faders, it stops moving and doesn't start again until I re-launch the software. Why is that and what can I do about it?
A:
This Ableton Live 5 feature makes it easier to record new automation and override pre-recorded fader movement. Click on the red "Back to Arrangement" button in Live's Transport Bar to re-activate fader movement. It is not necessary to re-launch the application. Please consult the Ableton Live 5 documentation for further info on the implementation of the Mackie Control protocol (used by the ProjectMix I/O).
