Q:
When I do SysEx transfers over the MIDI port on my M-Audio FireWire interface, bytes get added or dropped sometimes. The file size of the transferred SysEx file ends up being different from the original and/or the device receiving the SysEx stream doesn’t respond as expected. What can I do to make this work?
A:
M-Audio has identified an issue with SysEx transfers while clocking FireWire audio interfaces to an external digital source such as the S/PDIF, ADAT optical or Word Clock inputs. Set the sync source to “Internal” from the hardware tab of the FireWire control panel prior to transferring SysEx to resolve this issue.
