I dragged the GearBox installer application from the disk image to my applications...

I dragged the GearBox installer application from the disk image to my applications folder in OSX and it doesn’t work. Is it broken?

The installer for Mac OS X needs to run from the disk image, so just double-click on it there instead of dragging the installer to your desktop (or elsewhere on your computer).
