I see an unusual light pattern on my JBL LSR 4300 speakers: the [RMC] and [SOLO] buttons are blinking and the meter is lighting sequentially from right to left. What does this mean?

This light pattern indicates an error. You can look up these errors in Appendix F of the LSR User's Manual.

This particular error is RMC State, which is caused if the RMC process fails to complete.

To remedy this, power-cycle the speakers (turn them off and back on), then perform RMC again. If the problem persists, perform the factory reset procedure and repeat the RMC calibration process.
