To update the MPC1000 first go to AKAI Pro at

and download the latest OS version. Now unzip the file if the computer hasw not already done so. Insert the compact flash card into the MPC1000 and turn on the MPC1000. Go to load mode and press USB (F4). The screen on the MPC should now show "status=connected". You should now be able to browse the compact flash card on the computer. Open the OS version update that was just downloaded from AKAI and copy the "mpc1kvxxx.bin" file to the compact flash (make sure that you don't put it in any folder). Once the file has been copied
disconnect the MPC1000 from the computer. Turn off the
the MPC1000 hold down the Window button on the MPC1000
while powering it on. There will be a prompt that will state that this will update the MPC1000. Press the REC button and it will proceed to update the OS and reboot automatically. Make sure not to turn the power off while the update is in progress. All done!
