There is a high pitched squeeling sort of noise coming from the pedal

Remove the bottom plate.
Remove the center screw from the middle of the circuit board.
Locate the input jack on the inside of the chassis. If the pedal is upside down it will be on the opposite side. The input jack is made of a square piece of plastic. 1 corner of the jack is cut out at a diagonal.
Loosen the jack and turn it so the "cut out" corner of the jack is facing up or towards you.
Tighten the jack and flip it over and try it.

What happens is if the hot side of the input jack gets too close to the delay chip it will whistle like that.
