Q:
I recently installed a new GrooveTubes tube into my amp and I'm smelling a burning odor.
A:
Some Groove Tubes have a paper label on the glass part of the tube. As the tube gets hot (during normal operation), this label may burn a little. While this is not normally dangerous, it might be good to remove the label.
We have found that it is easiest to remove the sticker when the tube is warm to the touch. So after letting the tube warm up, let it cool down just a bit, then try peeling the label off. ••• WARNING - the tube can get HOT so be careful not to burn yourself ••• After removing this label, it will not be necessary or recommended to clean the tube further.
