There is an anomaly with the Apple CD 600e CD-ROM Drive such that it is currently incompatible with Kurzweil and E-MU (and possibly other) Samplers. The Errors are due to the Drive's difficulty with certain Packet sizes that come up quite often in the Sampler world.

There will be certain cases where the Drive seems to work on specific Disks and some cases where most of a Sample will get through but with some mild corruption.

It is important to understand that this incompatibility is due to an unorthodox change in the Apple CD600e and not the E-MU, Kurzweil, or other brand Samplers.

As far as a future fix from the Kurzweil or E-MU Engineers, neither has been able to confirm that they will be able to deal with the Apple 600e in the future due to the unexpected behaviors of this drive.

There is no known problem with the Apple CD 300 or Apple CD 300e. _FIZBIN_ (sent to Sales and Techies)
