Q:
Jazz drive locks up when hooked to a K2K

A:
Here's the temp workaround for the K2000/ K2500 Jazz and Zip problem.

Problem: When the Jazz or Zip drive is left alone it sleeps itself. If you are in or go to the DISK Mode with these drives are sleeping, you lock up.

Temp Solution:
After you have accessed the Zip or Jazz Drive, turn the drive off. Before you go to the DISK Mode again, turn the drive back on and let it spin up a bit. You can now go to the DISK Mode with no problem.

or

After you have accessed the Zip or Jazz Drive, eject the removable media. You can double press the two left-most soft-keys to do this from your keyboard. Before you go to the DISK Mode again, reinsert the removable media and let it spin up a bit. You can now go to the DISK Mode with no problem.

This problem *may* already be fixed in K2500 version 2.08. If not, it may *probably* be fixed in a future release.

The Jazz and Zip drives *do* work with any Version 2.xx on either the K2500 Keyboards or K2500R that has Version 2.

It's just that there's a small inconsistency with K2000's, K2vx's, and K2500R's that still have Version 1 in them.

Here's the workaround for the K2000 and K2500 Racks not at Version 2 yet.
