Q:
How to burn a Audio and Data CD! Toast 4.X
A:
First you must Bounce your Audio to disk, and create a "Stereo Interleaved file" Please see your audio software manual for steps on this. The idea here is to "Bounce to Disk" all of your tracks to a SINGLE stereo file. This is the File you use with Toast to burn a AUDIO CD. Once you have bounced your tracks to disk follow below:
1. Launch Toast (the name of your burner mechanism should be in the lower left corner below "CD Recorder" This is how you know your Burner is hooked up right. 2. Select Format ( Audio , Mac Files and Folders...ect...) 3A.If burning a DATA Backup CD choose "Mac Files and Folders" as the format. Then press the big "DATA" button. Press the "New CD" button.Double click on the CD icon that appears and Name your new CD.Now click on the "Add" button and navigate and add all of the files and/or folders you want! Just remember not to exceed the size limit of your CDR..(650-700Megs) Proceed to step 4! 3B.If burning a AUDIO CD choose "AUDIO CD" as the format. Then press the big "Audio" button. Now click on the "Add" button and navigate and add all of the Stereo Interleaved Audio files you want! Just remember not to exceed the size limit of your CDR..(650-700Megs) Proceed to step 4! 4.Now Press the Big "DONE" button. 5.Now press the next big "DONE" button. 6.Now we are back to the front page of Toast.Press the big "Write CD" button..the tray to your CD burner will eject. 7. Place a CDR into your burner and close the door. 8. There will be a slight pause... 9. Select the speed at which you want to burn your CD at. 10A. For DATA backup CD's I would choose "write session". This alows you to come back and "ADD" to the CDR untill you use up all of the space on the CDR.If you choose "write disc" you will NOT be able to add to the CDR even if there is space left...goto step 11 10B. For AUDIO CD's you can only "write disc" because of the nature of the format. The CD has to have a lead in and lead out info on it which prohibits it from being added to. goto step 11 11.The disk will start to write , grab some coffee..and relax your CD will be ready soon...
