Q:
Why does it take several seconds before ProTools starts to record audio?
A:
First make sure your Pre Roll is off.
Make sure your Click Countoff is disabled. Make sure you have set "Open ended Record Allocation" to only as much time as you need.(If your using a large HD ,ProTools will try to look at all of the space before it starts to record , and this will take several seconds if your HD is Large. Also make sure your Apple Memory Control Panel has a Disk Cache setting of 512K.
