Under "AUTO-group rec channel by __", select 1. 4. Press LOOP, select the same locate point for the Start as the PUNCH-IN. Press LOOP, select the same locate point for the End of the loop as the PUNCH-OUT. 5. Press EDIT to turn it off and enter normal operation mode. 6. Enable PRE-ROLL and POST-ROLL 7. Arm three tracks. 8. Select the locate which is the PUNCH-IN. 9. Press PLAY and REC. What will now happen is the BRC will go into play, enter record onto the first track armed at the appropriate time and punch-out at the appropriate time. Then, the BRC will rewind the tape, auto-punch on the second track armed. After punching out, the tape will be rewound again and auto-punch will take place on the third track armed. The Auto-group feature is perfect for recording multiple passes at solos and then choosing the best one at a later time. If you wanted to perform the same function with a stereo source, such as a keyboard, you would set "Auto group rec channels by__" to 2. The BRC would then punch-in tracks in pairs in the same manner as described above.
