Q:
Destructively recording over an existing region when zoomed in could result in the original Overview being displayed for the new audio.
 
A:
Pro Tools 5.0.1 (and earlier) is prone to this. Fixed in 5.1.

• Undoing an edit on a MIDI selection will cause the new selection to be lost.
• Pro Tools becomes very sluggish when the session contains lots of MIDI data.
• File Conversion and Audio Suite processes on Pro Tools Windows (NT and 98) do not write a time stamp to the new file. Also potentially applies to AIFF files on the Mac.
• Consolidate Selection doesn't write muted MIDI regions as silence.
