Pro Audio Support

Q:
Can Pro Tools "batch" convert audio files?

A:
For batch conversion to AIFF (or WAV), select all files you want to export for "batch processing" in the region list. Then choose "Export Selected As Sound Files" in the Region List's mini-menu (click on the "Audio" button at the top of the list for the menu. In the dialog box, choose the sound file type (and conversion, if any) you wish. TIP:If you have a bunch of files you want to convert in this way, and you just want to do the work (and have no preexisting session containing them), you can do this too with a neat trick:-Before starting, make sure you have an alias for the Pro Tools application visible on your desktop (or the application icon itself).-Create a new, blank session. -Go to the Finder, select all of the files you want to batch process, and drag them on top of the Pro Tools icon. -All of the files will automatically be loaded into the region list of the open session (in this case, your new blank one). Now you can follow the steps I listed previously for "Export Selected As Sound Files" and do your batch export.
