Q:
How to synchronize Logic Audio to Pro Tools LE on Windows systems

A:
-First, you need virtual MIDI cable similar to the IAC driver on Macintosh systems. Fortunately, there is "Hubi's Loop back" virtual driver. Down load from the Emagic website: www.emagic.de-Before you establish sync, you should decide which one is Master. As a general rule, the Master application should be the one which contains the audio data (for the instructions that follow, we provide both scenarios). In addition, keep in mind MTC code should only travel in one direction. Otherwise a feedback loop will occur and cause a complete system freeze (the Master application sends MTC code and Slave must read that time code but NOT send it back to the Master application).-Disable the Audio and MIDI Driver for the Digi 001 in Logic so that both application can will be played independently. (i.e. Launch Logic in a 'MIDI Only' mode).-You should make "LB-1 MIDI Out port" object on your Logic environment window: Environment -> Click & port -> make MIDI output object -> choose LB-1*** Pro Tools LE (Master) -> Logic (Slave) ***1. Open the session setup window on PT.2. Setup the frame rate at 30 fps3. set start time at 01:00:00:004. Check MTC to Port, choose "LB1", and close session setup window.5. Launch Logic.6. Open the synchronization window.7. Leave the Sync Mode set to 'Internal' but check "auto-enable external sync" then, Logic will be automatically synchronized (this is good feature). When you only want to edit MIDI tracks, you can play Logic itself and it will be changed MTC mode when you hit the play button on the Pro Tools.8. Set the frame rate at 30fps9. set the start time at 01:00:00:00.0010. Go to the MIDI tab, and "DESELECT" everything. This is critical. If 'Transmit MTC' is enabled, then the current Logic sequence will become unrecoverable (i.e. destroyed). Therefore, you must check whether nothing is checked on the MIDI tab or not... remember Deselect everything!!!11. Hit "Play" on your PT.*** Logic (Master) --> Pro Tools(Slave)***(This is very easy when you success the first procedure)1. Open the session setup window on Pro Tools2. Deselect "MTC to Port" and leave start time and frame rate (1 hour / 30fps).3. Hit the "Online" clock button on Pro Tools transport.4. Go to the Logic and open the Sync window5. Disable the "auto-enable external sync" and check same frame rate and start time with Pro Tools (30fps / 1 hour default)6. In the MIDI tab, Check "Transport MTC" and Choose LB1 7. Play the Logic sequence
