Q:
I have a problem with the installation and/or the authorization of Reason.

A:
Mac OSX:
The Reason 2.0 installer will fail if you have NFS or any other file sharing active in OSX. Disable the file sharing when You install Reason and keep it disabled until You have launched Reason for the first time, and authorized the installation.
If the Mac OS application Sharity is launched during start-up, the installation of Reason 2.0 will fail. Locate the Sharity folder in the Library/Startup items and move this temporarily to the thrash without emptying it. Restart the Mac and try to install Reason again. When the installation and the authorization is successful You can restore Sharity again to its original location.
I'm trying to install Reason. When I get to the point "Please insert the Orkester CD", nothing happens, the drive doesn't release the SoundBank CD. What should I do?
Hit the Eject button on your Apple keyboard or drag the Cd icon from the desktop to the thrash. Most people are used to the OS 9.X behavior where such operations aren't allowed when a dialog box is open, but this installer works differently. Hitting Eject will release the CD allowing you to insert the next CD.
Any OS:
If the installation halts during the process of installing any one of the 2 Sound Banks, try to install again but without including the Sound Banks in the actual installation. Choose Custom Install if you are on a Mac and uncheck the option to install the Soundbanks, Win-users will find this option in the third installation dialog. After a successful Reason application installation, insert the 2 Sound Bank CDs one by one and manually drag the 2 Refills (the .rfl files) to the Reason Folder on Your hard drive. Then launch Reason and proceed with the authorization.
The plastic card says 1.0.1? We managed to produce a batch of cards with a good old fashioned typo on them. Since the License numbers on these cards begins with RSN200, these License numbers are indeed 2.x numbers.
Reason will not accept my serial number. I've tried a number of times but it won't work. Is the serial number faulty?
There are no faulty serial numbers, but the barcode-type font we've used on one the authorization cards batch is easily misinterpreted. The most common mistakes are to confuse capital B with the number 8, capital I with the number 1 and capital O with the number 0. Also, make sure to get the syntax right, including the hyphens. The correct syntax for a Reason 2.0 license number is RSN200-XXXX-YYYYYY-ZZZZ-ZZZZ-ZZZZ where XXXX is a 4-digit number, YYYYYY is a 6-digit number and ZZZZ is a combination of four characters, alphabetical and/or numerical. It is not necessary to use Shift/Caps Lock for letters, Reason will accept small caps just as well.
