Q:
Can the global Tempo setting be changed over the course of a song or in real time?
A:
Yes! In the Arrangement View, unfold the Master track by pressing the triangular button next to its name. Please choose "Mixer" from the upper Device chooser and "Song Tempo" from the lower Control chooser. Now you can draw and edit automation for the master tempo (see the "Record and Automate" lesson or the manual's "Automation and Editing Envelopes" chapter for more on automation). Note that you can choose a minimum and maximum tempo using the fields located just beneath the Control chooser. You can also assign a MIDI controller to the Master tempo for precise control in real time.
Automation for global tempo can be created in the Master track.
