Q:
Adam A7 troubleshooting tips for Tech Support, "My A7was working then just died."
A:
The solution depends on what the user means by "died".
-If it just stopped powering up (blue LED not turning on, no sound, etc.) with nothing else happening then it's possible that the internal connector for the AC power fell off. That's a 2 pin connector (with heavy gauge red wires) that runs from the power switch on the front panel and connects to the power supply board on the rear panel. We did have one other unit where that was the problem. -If the blue LED is on (meaning the unit powers up) but there is no sound at all or just very low sound level from the woofer and tweeter, with nothing else odd (no smoke, etc.) then it's possible that shielded cable from the volume pot on the front panel to the rear panel preamp board became disconnected. It's a 4 pin connector from the front panel to the top of the rear panel...it's the only shielded cable connector in the unit so it's easy to spot. -If it's anything else...such as just suddenly no sound at all (not low sound level), if there was a smell of smoke or a sudden popping noise, or any other symptoms other than the above then it's likely some sort of electrical failure and not a quick fix-- would require bench repair.
