My Peavey Sanpera I or II footswitch doesn't work with my Vypyr amplifier...

My Peavey Sanpera I or II footswitch doesn't work with my Vypyr amplifier. How do I know if there's a problem with the footswitch or the amplifier.

If making preset changes manually on the amplifier changes the settings or LED's on the Sanpera footswitch, then this may indicate a problem with the Vypyr amplifier.
