ThePro Tools 5.1 Reference Guide states that when new tracks are created, their inputs are set to the Default setting in I/O Setup window and the Outputs are set automatically in ascending order.

This is a misprint. Outputs are assigned according to the I/O Setup window and Inputs are in ascending order.
