Q:
I tried to upgrade my Podxt via midi from my computer, and now my Podxt has a blank display. What can I do?
A:
If this update process is not successful, you may see the message "ERROR 01 - INVALID CODE" on the PODxt's display. If you see this message (or if your display is completely blank), your PODxt is not broken - the data was corrupted in its journey to the PODxt. Although the PODxt will not give a visual indication that it is receiving the data, the unit is still able to receive SysEx messages, so you should try sending the update again with the "Slow Mode (Safer)" checkbox checked. If you have experienced problems, it is also a good idea to put the PODxt into "Safe Mode" when retrying the update. To do this, turn PODxt's power off and hold down the left-most soft edit button while turning the power back on. After pressing "Play" on the XTU app to resend the update, be sure to wait until you see the "Turn the power of your Line 6 device off and then back on again" message on your computer screen before turning the unit off and back on.
